and naked we made it us too

denim jacket - H&M / dress - H&M / boots - Seychelles

Ah, the day before Valentine's.  This has always been a somewhat melancholy holiday for me, and who can't say that at one point or another?  But this year I'm trying to look at things a different way.  I'm the girl who always wears all black all the time.  Holidays, then, are a reason to bust out the color!  The sparkle.  The feminine mystique.  And combat boots...

Don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful boyfriend whom I love dearly.  There's just that generically bad feeling that I get when I think about valentines past.  I suppose all the complaints I can list about Valentine's day have already been exhausted, so I won't bore you with them again here.  However, there's something about embracing the world of color that has made the holiday more bearable.  Fun, even.  Valentine's day isn't about men and roses and jewelry.  It's about red sparkles!  Pink sequins!  Floral prints and pouffy dresses.  Now that's something that I can be excited about.  And I do love sparkles.  I also love my dog Sophie.  So here's to all the things we love, be they human or not.

  1. Hi Katie! I'm so dumb that I accidentally left a comment meant for you re: Junot Diaz on the wrong blog! Dumb dumb. I won't try to recreate the comment as the moment's passed and I've utterly failed at commenting. I love this outfit, and I'm so happy to see any outfit that isn't red or pink or blah blah on Valentine's Day.

  2. Hi Katie,
Cute outfit, I love the combat boots with the dress. My tip for modeling is this: Move around. Every time the camera snaps move your feet, switch your weight, you arms and your facial expressions. After a while you'll know what works for you. And don't be afraid to do things that may feel weird or silly, you never know what's going to work.
    Hope this helps!
Your blog is looking good, good luck with it!
